As the Scientific Director of the Active InnovAging Research Pillar, Dr. Dogra aims to:
- Co-create disruptive programs that support active aging among older adults across different living environments through participatory action research.
- Implement evidence-based programs to support active aging among older adults who are socially isolated and highly sedentary.
- Understand how to create safe, inclusive programming that ensure engagement from older adults with diverse intersectional identities.
- Create new knowledge related to sedentary physiology that informs the development of impactful interventions.
Dr. Dogra is committed to working with community partners and older adults to ensure that research can be put into action. She is the Founding Chair of the Age-Friendly University initiative at Ontario Tech University, and ensures that older adults have a deep and meaningful connection to the university through courses, engagement with students and researchers, and on-campus events.
